Some attention, although not enough, has been drawn to John McCain's involvement and subsequent hand slapping during the 1987 Keating 5 fiasco. McCain "The Apologizer" skated on this, claiming it is merely his asterisk.
Case closed? I don't think so.
There was something else the McCain did that has slipped under the radar.
McCain's involvement with Keating did not start in 1987.
Prior to the April '87 meetings, McCain had already carried Keating's water by stacking the deck in Keating's favor.
Mr. Keating wrote to Mr. McCain on July 1, 1986, that the Federal Home Loan Bank Board under Mr. Gray was "diametrically opposed to everything your administration stands for." He said he was enclosing a memorandum from Mr. Gray's law firm and added, "Can you read the enclosed memorandum and not be horrified at the police state Edwin Gray has created?"

McCain's remedy for the Foreclosure Crisis calls for Americans to stay home and work their asses off.

He fails to mention that the Travel Industry would suffer and more than likely workers in the Vacation Business would lose their homes.
And then there's the fact that there appears to be a shortage of jobs and many have lost their first job.
According to McCAIN, civilian deaths are perfectly acceptable because "I know how to win wars".
