“Just Five Dollars”
Sat Aug 02, 2008 at 03:26:26 PM PDT
It's late, about 10 pm. The phone rings, caller ID tells me it's a good friend, and I answer, "Hey! What's up?"
She is ecstatic, "Hey! I just donated $5.00 to Barack Obama!"
I said, "Good for you!" And the next thing I know, there are tears in my eyes.
Hillary on TV, Live, Tonight (with poll)
Mon Feb 04, 2008 at 01:16:19 PM PDT
I signed up for updates from General Wes Clark some time ago and just opened the most recent about two minutes before. The message was about Hillary Clinton and a Town Hall on live TV tonight:
"Hillary will be taking questions from audience members in New York and in 21 other locations in states that will be voting on Super Tuesday. And all the conversations will be connected by satellite.
I hope you'll tune in Monday night at 9 p.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel or on HillaryClinton.com."
Take That, You Christofascisti!

Boy howdy, I get mighty peevish about Congressional reps hijacking American history in support of an ugly agenda. If you haven't read these, please do: [updated w/action item] STOP HOUSE RESOLUTION 888 ! ;Think the "Christmas Resolution" was Bad? Check Out H. Res. 888 . Wasting Congressional session time on outright lies and distortions in support of the Religiously wRong is, well, religiously wrong!
Lives are destroyed and taxpayers' money flushed away because Congress can't get their act together, and yet these yahoos have no problem lallygagging along with tripe like this stinker. They oughta' be ashamed.
Please note I said "peevish" above. I've been working on restraining the mouth foaming, spittle spewing rage I really feel on discovering some new atrocity by elected officials. In this spirit of real Christian forbearance, I have written an appropriate response to the legislators who have sponsored H.R. 888. Feel free to take it as your own and help spread the joy!
Davenport, Iowa and history in the making
Thu Jan 03, 2008 at 08:19:27 PM PDT
The Quad Cities is a set of four metro areas divided (or brought together) by the mighty Mississippi River. The river runs east then west in a strange kind of round about, before turning again to flow south to the New Orleans delta and the Gulf. We sit by the part that runs west. The sunsets can be spectacularly beautiful.
This area has a superbly rich and detailed history, from pirates, thieves and heinous murders to the remarkable river pilots who knew every twist and turn the Mississippi made. Tonight I felt compelled to see more history in the making.
Joe Six Pack Lives and Opines on Obama!
Thu Sep 13, 2007 at 10:48:13 AM PDT
Amazingly, he's on our side with some timely advice to Democrats and a caveat for Barack the Rock.
"Joe" noticed something Senator Obama said on the Today Show, misinterpreted it completely (although I understand why), and posts a video response on Youtube.
He then goes on to give what I think is a perfect rant with impeccable Joe Six Pack style.
I can't vote for Hillary (with poll)

Hillary is never going to be a viable choice for me as Prez for these United States. Some of the reasons Bush wasn't a good choice apply to her:
1)Never been in a shooting war.
2)Too much corporate money in the war chest.
3)Ambitious in a take-no-prisoners way.
4)A need to prove a better president than the preceding family member.
5)I...just...cannot...like her.
